By MetStudios

20 October 2025

MetStudios is a creative hub for video games, animation and visual effects (VFX) education – a place where storytellers and artists come together to make incredible things. Learning here is practical, experimental and fuelled by curiosity. You’ll work on projects that stretch your imagination and give you a glimpse of what’s possible in games design, games development, digital media and the wider creative industries.

Our campuses are designed to feel like professional studios, equipped with the same tools and technology that working creatives use every day. This allows students to hone their technical skills while building a strong, industry-ready portfolio.

The digital media industry is evolving fast, and employers are looking for people who can blend creativity with technical know-how. This course is designed for those who want to be at the centre of that change — creating interactive stories, immersive worlds, and new ways to play and experience ideas.

By working hands-on with industry tools and collaborating across games, animation, and VFX, you’ll build not just technical ability but creative confidence. Whether you want to design, develop, or invent something entirely new, this course gives you the foundation to step into the creative industry ready to make your mark.

At MetStudios, you’ll learn how to turn your creativity into real, playable experiences, gaining the skills that modern studios are looking for.

Learn from industry professionals

We know that good teaching comes from experience. That’s why all our courses are led by professionals who have worked in top studios and on high-profile projects across video games, animation and VFX.  Learn more about the lecturers here: People – MetStudios

And not only will you be taught by lecturers who know the business inside and out, but you’ll also benefit from masterclasses with leading professionals such as game designers for Disco Elysium and indie developers Snap Finger Click.

What’s the difference between this and the other courses?

The Games Design and Development course explores how games are conceived, designed, and built — from game mechanics and storytelling to player experience and production. It’s aimed at students who want to design how games play rather than just how they look. With an emphasis on gameplay mechanics, systems design, and player interaction, it covers the entire game development cycle from concept to production and launch.
