UCAS Application Guide

Your future in games starts with one application.

Apply to MetStudios by 6pm on 13 January 2027 and your application gets equal consideration alongside every other one received by the deadline. Applying by this date means your application is considered first for BA (Hons) Games Design and Development or BA (Hons) Games Art and Technology at our Brighton campus. But if you don’t submit your application by this date, you will still have options.

Applications can still be submitted after the January deadline, although universities and colleges are not required to give late applications equal consideration. Places on our courses can fill up, but we continue to accept applications while spaces remain, so it’s always worth checking with us before applying. This also applies to EU and international students, although individual deadlines may vary.

If you’ve used all five of your UCAS choices and aren’t holding any offers, UCAS Extra opens on 25 February 2027, giving you another opportunity to apply for a place. Extra allows you to add one more choice, one course at a time, if you’re eligible.

UCAS Extra closes on 1 July 2027. If you don’t hold an offer after this, you can apply through Clearing, which opens on 2 July 2027.

If you are applying as an international student outside of the UK, please see our application advice here.

Not sure which course is right for you, or want to see the campus? Book an open day or talk to us.

UCAS Process

UCAS Process

When you apply to UCAS, you’ll be asked to submit up to five options for the courses you’d like to study at the institutes you’d like to join.

You’ll find all our courses listed on the UCAS website, along with our course and campus codes.

To make an application through UCAS, you’ll need to go to www.ucas.com and register before you can submit any choices.

If you’ve used all five choices on your application, and you’re not holding any offers, you could still find a place using UCAS’ free service, Extra. Find our more about Extra on the UCAS website.

Your UCAS application will need to include the following:

    • A list of all your academic achievements, including any pending qualifications
    • A Personal Statement (maximum 4,000 characters)
    • A reference from either a teacher, tutor or employer

For more information about UCAS submissions, download our handy application and personal statement guides.

Here are our available courses with their corresponding UCAS code. Please note that on the UCAS website, all our undergraduate courses are listed under our partner, BIMM University (Institution Code B39):

*This course is awarded by BIMM University

When we receive your UCAS application, we’ll invite you for an interview. This will be a Zoom interview for your convenience. If you meet the entry criteria for the course you’ve selected, we’ll offer you a conditional offer.

If you’ve applied via UCAS, you’ll be invited to attend an interview. A Zoom interview will be scheduled for all applicants.

If your interview is successful, we’ll provide you with a ‘conditional offer’ (which means it’s pending until we receive your exam results and certificates) or an ‘unconditional offer’ (meaning you’ve met the entry criteria for the course and don’t need to give us any additional information).

Your offer will be announced via UCAS’s ‘Hub’ facility.

Once you have submitted and paid for your UCAS application, you will then be able to view any changes or updates made to your application via UCAS Hub. This is where you will be able to view any offers that you may have received and any conditions associated with this.

Your offer and conditions

If you are made a conditional offer on UCAS, it is important that you take the time to read the conditions of your offer carefully, as an offer from MetStudios include any or all of the following- each of these will need to be met/evidenced before your offer can be made Unconditional:

  • Academic qualifications- Level 3 (such as A Levels) and Level 2 (such as GCSE English)
  • Passing an RPP Submission- this will be set for mature applicants in lieu of Level 3 qualifications or if Level 3 attainment does not meet requirements
  • Passing RPL (Year 2 entry only)
  • Attending an audition/interview and receiving a recommendation
  • Copy of your UK passport
  • Evidence of Immigration Status
  • A reference- if you did not provide one on your UCAS application

Accepting your offer

You will only be able to accept your offer once you have received decisions from all of your choices. If you have applied to more than one institution and would like to accept an offer made by MetStudios, but are unable to, then it is likely that you are waiting for a decision from another choice and it may be worth contacting them directly.

You do not have to have met the conditions of your offer before you accept it. Your offer will remain Conditional Firm (CF) until you have provided evidence that all conditions have been met. Often, this will be once you receive your exam results.

Depending on when you receive all of your offers, you will have a deadline to respond. This information will be available to view on your UCAS Hub.

There are a number of important dates to be aware of if you are applying for an undergraduate course through UCAS. These deadlines are set by UCAS for all applicants using the service, and we are unable to change them.

UCAS will send you reminders of any important dates, and you can also view your own deadlines at any time by logging in to your UCAS Hub.

Some of the most important dates for 2027 entry are:

  • 13 January 2027, 18:00 – UCAS Equal Consideration deadline. This is the deadline for most undergraduate applications to be considered equally by universities and colleges. Applications received by this date must be given equal consideration alongside all others received by the deadline.
  • 25 February 2027 – UCAS Extra opens. If you’ve used all five choices and aren’t holding any offers, you may be able to add another choice, one course at a time.
  • 2 June 2027 – If you receive decisions from all of your choices by 12 May 2027, you need to reply to your offers by this date. If you miss it, your offers will be declined by default.
  • 30 June 2027, 18:00 – UCAS main scheme closes for new applications. Applications received after this point are automatically entered into Clearing.
  • 1 July 2027 – UCAS Extra closes.
  • 2 July 2027 – Clearing opens for eligible applicants, and available vacancies are displayed in the UCAS search tool.
  • 21 July 2027 – If you receive decisions from all of your choices by 14 July 2027, you need to reply to your offers by this date. If you miss it, your offers will be declined by default.
